A trip to Trasimeno Lake

Lovers visiting Città della Pieve must definitely go to the street Vicolo Baciadonne: considered the narrowest in Italy – it is approximately only 50 centimetres wide – it would seem that walking through it has always been used as a way to get a kiss from your beloved.

 

Orvieto and Saint Patrick’s Well

The Duomo of Orvieto is one of the most important and majestic churches in Italy. From the Torre del Moro you can enjoy an amazing view of the surrounding area as far as the eye can see. The city is built on a cliff giving it its unique and fascinating appearance, as though it were suspended between heaven and earth. And though it seems to be reaching upwards, Orvieto is also able to amaze us with is foundations. In fact visiting the underground city, is breathtaking, with its caves, wells and tunnels carved out in the 5th century B.C. A visit to Saint Patrick’s Well is a must: 53 metres deep and with a double spiral staircase of 248 steps each, lit by 72 large windows that let light in from above. This is where lovers can follow the tradition of tossing in a coin and make a love wish together.

 

Todi and the San Fortunato Bell Tower

The romantic day in Umbria can end in Todi with a visit to the beautiful historical centre, especially the San Fortunato Bell Tower, possibly at sunset, to enjoy an extraordinary and enchanting view.
