“TODI IS A SMALL TOWN IN THE CENTER OF ITALY”
How is it to live in a small town in Italy?
How is it to live in a small town where everybody knows everybody?
What’s best “not to do” in Todi?
These are just an example of some of the questions that have really been asked to more than 110 people from Todi, whose replies are told in this performance through the eyes of four locals in their thirties and a documentarist.
Like a subjective shot, the documentarist’s point of view registers and reads between the lines of what is hidden in Todi’s everyday life: embarrassment, respectability, rancour, unconventionality and hostility.
The “foreigner” explores the multitude and is then hit by these four people’s point of view which happens to be similar to his.
Todi is a small town in the center of Italy is a play but also a survey on taboos and ethics in our present time, it invites the audience to become the target of this research giving, on the other hand, the possibility to watch their habits recreated on stage.
Todi becomes a mirror of the Italian’s small towns life, and the whole Italy in general.
